40 question(s)

01Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates is a training method practiced on a spring-loaded machine called the Reformer. By combining resistance, control and breath, it strengthens deep muscles and improves posture and mobility while being gentle on the joints. At BLVD Pilates, a Reformer Pilates studio in Laval, every class is led by a certified instructor.

Mat Pilates uses your body weight, while Reformer Pilates adds the adjustable resistance of springs. This makes it possible to intensify or lighten each exercise, guide alignment more precisely and progress faster in strength and tone.

Reformer Pilates strengthens muscles in depth, improves posture, tones and sculpts the body and reduces stress. It is an ideal method for a stronger, more aligned and more balanced body, at any age.

Yes. The slow, controlled movements on the Reformer work the core, glutes, legs and back in depth. With regular Reformer Pilates practice, the body becomes more toned, longer and more stable.

02Getting started

Absolutely. The Reformer lets you adjust resistance and range of motion to your level. Our instructors adapt every exercise, which makes our Pilates classes in Laval accessible even with no experience at all.

No. Reformer Pilates is for everyone, whatever your starting fitness level. It is actually an excellent way to (re)start moving gently, safely and progressively.

Your instructor introduces you to the Reformer, its springs and the safety guidelines, then guides you movement by movement. You work at your own pace in a small group, with personalized corrections throughout the session.

To discover Reformer Pilates in Laval, we recommend the BLVD Intro Class at $32 (1 class) or the BLVD Intro Experience at $119 (4 classes), reserved for new clients and with no commitment.

04Classes and formats

We offer three Reformer Pilates formats: group classes (small groups), private one-on-one classes with an instructor, and semi-private classes for two. Each format can be booked directly online.

Our group Reformer Pilates classes are kept small, so every client benefits from attentive guidance and personalized corrections.

A private class is a 50-minute one-on-one session with your instructor, fully tailored to your goals: posture, getting back in shape, returning to training or refining your Reformer Pilates technique.

The semi-private class is a 50-minute Reformer Pilates session for two, with a friend, your partner or a family member. You get personalized coaching while sharing the experience.

07Packages and memberships

A package is a bundle of Reformer Pilates classes with no commitment (5, 10 or 15 classes). A membership gives a number of classes per month, renews automatically every 28 days and offers the best price per class for regular practice.

Four memberships: Essential (1 class / week), Signature (2 classes / week), Elite (3 classes / week) and Ultimate (up to 24 classes / month). Each comes in a standard version (2-month commitment) or BLVD Club (3-month commitment, at the best rate).

The BLVD Club is our membership option with a 3-month commitment, offering the best monthly rate. Ideal if you want to practice Reformer Pilates in Laval consistently and see lasting results.

The validity period of each package is shown at purchase. Memberships renew automatically every 28 days after the minimum commitment period. Contact us with any question about your account.

08Health and results

For visible results in strength, posture and mobility, we recommend two to three Reformer Pilates sessions per week. One session per week is still excellent to maintain your practice.

Most clients feel better posture and more energy after a few sessions. Visible changes in tone usually appear after a few weeks of regular practice, depending on your consistency.

Reformer Pilates tones muscles, improves body composition and supports an active lifestyle. Combined with good nutrition and regular practice, it contributes to a firmer, more defined figure.

Reformer Pilates can be adapted to many situations, but first get approval from your healthcare professional. Then let your instructor know before class; a private class is often ideal for personalized follow-up.

09What to wear and bring

Wear fitted, comfortable clothing that lets your instructor see your alignment. Avoid zippers and jewelry that could catch on the Reformer.

Yes, grip socks are recommended for your stability and safety on the Reformer, and for equipment hygiene.

Just bring a water bottle, your grip socks and a towel if you wish. All Reformer Pilates equipment is provided at the studio.

We suggest arriving a few minutes before your class starts, especially for a first Reformer Pilates class, to settle in and meet your instructor.
